The Vietnam Railways Corporation has officially launched its high-quality "La Reine" (Queen) tourist train at Đà Lạt Station in the Central Highlands of Lâm Đồng, serving passengers on the Đà Lạt - Trại Mát route.
The HCM City Tourism Association has kicked off the
domestic tourism promotion programme, with the participation of Vietnam
Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific and Sai Gon Railway Company, to
offer attractive discounts for ticket fares.
The Ha Noi Railway Transport Company is offering a
40 per cent discount for customers buying two-way tickets for train SE19
and SE20. The discount is 20 per cent for the one-way route.
The Saigon Railway Co. and the HCM City Travel
Association (HTA) have joined hands with tourism authorities in Binh
Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, and Binh Dinh to offer low-cost rail tours
between the southern metro and these four south-central provinces.
Ha Noi and Sai Gon Railway Passenger Transport
Companies are offering promotions on routes from Ha Noi to HCM City, Ha
Noi to Da Nang and Ha Noi to Vinh.
The Sai Gon Railway Passenger Transport Company said
it would put more trains into operation between HCM City and Nha Trang,
Quy Nhon or Phan Thiet during the Independence Day holiday on September
2.
Local authorities in the Central Highland city of Da Lat approved a
plan to build six new railway routes from city centre to several tourism
sites by 2020, according to Truong Huu Hiep, director of the Lam Dong
provincial Transport Department.
Central provinces of Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan are
calling for investment to restore the 84km railway linking the coastal
Phan Rang – Thap Cham City in Ninh Thuan Province and the mountainous
resort city of Da Lat in Lam Dong Province.
